ANNA CIRILLO, is born on 21/11/1985 in Sarzana (La Spezia). Graduated in Painting from the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts in 2011. Classically trained, after graduating in Architecture she specialized in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara. She has always been fascinated by myths, legends, allegories and
symbolism.
Her works deal with issues related to human impulses and fears and the recurring themes are those of death and evil.
The most important cycle of works, created between 2013 and 2017, is entitled The beauty of the beast: based on animal skulls, it ended with a solo exhibition at the Barbara Frigerio Gallery in Milan. Recent work explores the themes of magic and esotericism and sees a return to drawing on paper.
