Sai a volte mi chiedo come qualcuno possa realizzare un libro, un dipinto, una sinfonia o una scultura che competa con una grande città. Non ci si riesce, ci si guarda intorno e ogni strada, ogni boulevard, sono in realtà una speciale forma d’arte. E quando qualcuno pensa che nel gelido, violento e insignificante universo esiste Parigi ed esistono queste luci, insomma andiamo non succede niente su Giove o su Nettuno, ma qualcuno lassù dallo spazio può vedere queste luci, i caffè, la gente che beve e che canta. Per quanto ne sappiamo, Parigi è il posto più cool dell’universo…”

E così Parigi continua ad essere fonte di ispirazione per gli artisti; qui vi mostriamo alcune opere di pittori e fotografi, che con tecniche e stili differenti ne hanno immortalato le strade.
Dalle foto in 3d di Alberto Fanelli, ai disegni di Giulio Ruffini; Maurizio Galimberti l’ha raccontata con le Polaroid e Francesca Meana con una personalissima tecnica fotografica. Chiudono la selezione un romantico acquerello di Joseph Zbukvic e le opere uniche di Francesca Galliani, che strizzano l’occhio ai vecchi cartelloni pubblicitari.
“I can never decide whether Paris is more beautiful by day or by night. (…) I mean I can give you a checkmate argument for each side. You know, I sometimes think, how is anyone ever gonna come up with a book, or a painting, or a symphony, or a sculpture that can compete with a great city. You can’t. Because you look around and every street, every boulevard, is its own special art form and when you think that in the cold, violent, meaningless universe that Paris exists, these lights, I mean come on, there’s nothing happening on Jupiter or Neptune, but from way out in space you can see these lights, the cafés, people drinking and singing. For all we know, Paris is the hottest spot in the universe.

The selection ends with a romantic watercolor by Joseph Zbukvic and the unique works of Francesca Galliani, which wink at old advertising billboards.
